How This Works
We collect covers from Amazon Bestseller and New Releases lists and select publisher catalogues. AI-assisted analysis identifies features such as typography, colour and imagery, with tools for human review and correction. This makes tags that are then added up and compared and make up the trends.
Common Looks are combinations of features found together on the same genre covers.
Common Signals are individual features that appear frequently in the selected genre.
Each percentage shows the share of matching covers in its genre, with each cover counted once. The count underneath shows how much evidence it is based on.
How To Use The Site
- Start with your genre. Use the genre picker to see the Looks and Signals relevant to your book.
- Follow the evidence. Open a Look, Signal or cover to inspect its details, or browse the collection in Gallery.
- See the wider context. Visit Trends for changes between periods and Rankings for dated bestseller charts.
- Try your own cover. Use Cover Comparison to see your design alongside genre bestsellers.
